The Ministry of Culture has set up a working group on copyright protection on the internet

The Russian Culture Ministry set up a working group on protecting copyright and intellectual property online, which should start next week, reported the Russian Deputy Culture Minister Maxim Ksenzov.

“The most important thing is the fight against piracy. This is  the most critical issue for film producers and rights holders. Obviously, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation will take active measures in this regard. I hope that next week we will start a working group on protection of copyright and intellectual property rights on the internet for the consumption and use of domestic content,” he said on Thursday at a press conference “Challenges for the film industry in the era of global digital transformation.

Earlier, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation reported the possibility to consider funding of theaters to enable purchase of the copyrights for internet streaming.
